Job Summary

Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician – DOT Management Level, Individual Contributor. Flexible work option: remote work allowed where the candidate resides within the specified city, state or region. Travel: 100% of the time. Variable hourly base pay: $32.26 – $48.41/hour (range may vary based on location and experience). New hire bonus: $3,000, paid 50% after 30 days and 50% after 180 days.

Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
  • Execute minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment such as electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters/alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines (gas and diesel), transmissions (manual and automatic), clutches, and differentials.
  • Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment using handheld computers, pressure gauges, and other test instruments.
  • Road‑test vehicles to diagnose malfunction and confirm proper operation.
  • Identify problems, evaluate alternatives using sound judgment, and determine the most accurate and relevant solutions.
  • Manage parts inventory independently, perform periodic reconciliation, and maintain accuracy of available parts.
  • Operate company‑issued service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections.
  • Listen to and work effectively with clients to assess needs, provide information or assistance, and satisfy expectations.
  • Prioritize concurrent tasks, schedule work effectively, and manage own daily schedule.
  • Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lift and jacks for repairs.
  • Document all work according to company standards, upload photos, parts used, and findings to Repair Orders (RO) via a company‑issued iOS device and TRAIT application.
  • Complete DOT forms and other documentation in a timely manner.
  • Maintain compliance with safety, health, and environmental policies and federal regulations including OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED plus 3 years’ experience in a related field; alternative combinations such as a degree/certification and 5 years’ experience are acceptable.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with refrigerated equipment.
  • Possession of essential hand tools required for job duties.
  • OEM training and certifications preferred.
  • Participation in and completion of all company‑required training.
  • Compliance with DOT regulations and completion of DOT background screening and DOT physical (or equivalent DOT medical card with sufficient validity).
  • At least 21 years of age and a valid driver’s license capable of maintaining a Driver Qualification File.
Certifications

Required or to be obtained within 18 months: ASE T8 (PMI), ASE 608/609.

Preferred certifications: ASE T2, T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, A8, L1, L2.
