Accounting Assistant

Description We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to support day-to-day financial operations for a contract assignment based in Hudson, Ohio. This Contract position is ideal for someone who can confidently manage a wide range of accounting tasks, maintain organized records, and help keep core processes running smoothly. The role offers the opportunity to contribute across payables, receivables, payroll, and related accounting activities in a hands-on environment.

Responsibilities:

- Manage outgoing payments by reviewing invoices, assigning proper coding, and preparing items for timely processing.

- Track incoming customer payments, post receipts accurately, and follow up on outstanding balances as needed.

- Process payroll on a regular schedule, including support for union payroll requirements when applicable.

- Complete bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reporting.

- Prepare and maintain lien waiver documentation and related records in accordance with company needs.

- Use Quick Books Online to record transactions, update account information, and support daily accounting workflows.

- Work within Foundation Software to assist with payroll administration and maintain accurate employee pay data.

- Provide general accounting support and take on additional finance-related tasks as business needs evolve. Requirements - At least 5 years of experience in an accounting support or bookkeeping role.

- Practical experience handling both accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.

- Strong knowledge of full-cycle payroll processing, with union payroll experience considered an advantage.

- Hands-on proficiency with Quick Books, including transaction entry and account maintenance.

- Experience coding invoices and maintaining organized financial documentation.

- Familiarity with Foundation Software for payroll or related accounting functions.

- Ability to complete bank reconciliations accurately and resolve variances efficiently.

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for tracking, reporting, and data review.
