Salary Range$100k - $130k/annum plus benefits

Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Senior Controls and Instrumentation Engineer to support the design, development, testing, and deployment of power system automation, microgrid, and electrical power monitoring solutions. This role involves working with modern automation platforms and collaborating with cross‑functional engineering teams to deliver reliable, high‑quality control systems for industrial power applications.
Key Responsibilities- Develop functional specifications, including sequences of operation (SOO) and bills of materials (BOM).
- Collaborate with electrical design teams to support the creation of detailed drawing packages.
- Design, configure, test, and deploy PLC, DCS, RTAC, IEDs (relays, meters, synchronize rs), and HMI solutions for power system automation applications.
- Create and support execution of Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) plans.
- Participate in loop checks, system start‑up, commissioning, and deployment activities.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and optimization of existing control systems.
- Deliver formal and informal technical training to internal teams or end users as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
- 3–6 years of experience in controls engineering or power systems automation.
- Hands‑on experience with power automation functions such as generator synchronization, load shedding, system islanding, paralleling switch gear, or similar applications.
- Experience with major automation and controls platforms (or equivalent technologies).
- Familiarity with common power industry communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850, OPC, BACnet).
- Willingness to travel up to 25% for site visits, field support, and customer‑facing activities.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Ability to lead portions of project scope and provide technical guidance to team members.
- Additional relevant experience in power systems, controls, or automation is a plus.
