Medical Assistant - Akron Children’s Hospital CHPA Office

Part‑time position (24 hours per week). Availability required for evenings (until 7:00 p.m.) and Saturdays.

• Reports to the Practice Manager and works under the clinical supervision and direction of a physician to provide specific clinical care to designated patients.
• Records vital signs, weight, and height.
• Performs hearing and vision screening evaluations.
• Performs phlebotomy and obtains nasopharyngeal and other specimens for testing.
• Administers vaccines and medications, including antibiotics, as directed by the physician according to policy and procedure.
• Maintains the clinical exam areas.
• Documents test results in the medical record.
• Answers basic health‑care questions via phone for parents using pre‑approved guidelines.
• Performs other assigned tasks to promote efficient practice operation and provide quality patient care, including filing and appointment scheduling as needed.

• Graduate of an accredited high school.
• Medical Assistant with certification preferred, or equivalent education, training, or experience including paramedics, EMT, or military training.
• Must have or obtain BLS certification.
• Ability to work as part of a team and interact with people in a friendly, supportive manner at all times.
• Work some evenings until 7:00 p.m. and rotate Saturdays.

Benefit eligible. Part‑time 24 hours per week.
