We have an urgent need for a Grind Operator in Hudson, OH, and are seeking candidates with any level of grinding experience.
Centerless grinding experience is a major plus
, but not required!

The Grinding Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating centerless grinding machines used for grinding the outside diameters of metal parts.

Essential Functions:

• Monitors machine operations to determine whether adjustments are necessary; stop machine when problems occur.
• Set-up and operates centerless grinders to grind metal work pieces.
• Operates centerless grinders to grind metal work pieces and place them in boxes or on racks; set aside pieces that are defective.
• Selects and mounts grinding wheels on machines, according to specifications, using hand tools and knowledge of abrasives and grinding procedures.
• Performs basic maintenance, such as cleaning and lubricating machine parts.
• Removes and replace worn or broken machine parts, using hand tools.
• Computes numbers, widths, and angles of cutting tools, micrometers, scales, and gauges and adjust tools to produce specified cuts.

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)

Physical Demand/Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the individual must be able to sit and talk or hear, walk, and climb stairs. Also, the employee must be able to stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands, arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.

The Grinding Operator will frequently spend time on the manufacturing floor as well as in the office. While on the manufacturing floor, the employee must wear eye and hearing protection. Safety-toed shoes are highly recommended while being around manufacturing equipment.
