SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Exhibit customer service skills that enhance the lives of the residents and their psychosocial wellbeing
  • Promote resident dignity, privacy, and rights at all times.
  • Provide direct nursing care to residents in accordance with established nursing standards, facility policies, and physician orders.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely.
  • Complete all UDA’s, Risk Managements, and charting required during your shift
  • Monitor residents for signs and symptoms of illness, injury, or change in condition, initiate appropriate interventions, and promptly report changes in residents’ conditions to the Nurse Manager or Physician.
  • Complete admissions, discharges, and transfers as assigned.
SUPERVISORY ROLES
  • Serve as the charge nurse for the assigned unit/shift.
  • Supervise, guide, and support CNAs and other assigned nursing staff.
  • Assign duties to nursing assistants and ensure completion of tasks.
  • Perform accurate, timely, and legally compliant documentation of care, medications, and treatments.
  • Address resident, family, and staff concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Act as a liaison between nursing staff, providers, and interdisciplinary team members.
COMPLIANCE & QUALITY
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., CMS, state health departments).
  • Follow infection control, safety, and emergency procedures.
  • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) activities as assigned.
EDUCATION & CARE
  • Provide education to residents and families related to care, medications, and treatments.
  • Respond to resident and family concerns with empathy and professionalism.
SAFETY & EMERGENCY
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for residents and staff.
  • Identify and report safety hazards, incidents, and accidents according to facility policy.
  • Participate in emergency drills and respond appropriately during emergencies.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing.
  • Current Licensure for Practical Nursing in the State of Ohio.
  • BLS Certified (CPR/First Aid).
