About the Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tax & Accounting Intern to join our team. This internship offers hands-on experience in tax preparation, accounting, and client service within a professional firm environment. You'll gain real-world exposure to working with individuals and small businesses while developing technical and professional skills that are essential for a successful accounting career.
What You'll DoAs a Tax & Accounting Intern, you will:
- Prepare income tax returns for individuals and small businesses
- Assist with tax extensions and quarterly estimated tax payments
- Complete electronic tax work papers to support filed returns
- Review client documents to identify reportable income and deductions
- Prepare missing information requests for clients as needed
- Perform account reconciliations using Quick Books or similar software
- Participate in tax training sessions to build software and technical knowledge
- Maintain the confidentiality of client and firm information
- Assist with additional services such as payroll and bookkeeping
- Support the team with various projects and duties as assigned
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and client service abilities
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
- Critical thinking and problem-solving mindset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Quick Books or similar software preferred
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Eagerness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
- On track to meet the 150-credit CPA eligibility requirement (preferred)
- Ability to work overtime during peak periods (preferred)
- Authorized to work in the United States
