The Opportunity:
Our client is a successful boutique wealth management firm seeking an experienced Financial Planning Specialist to join its collaborative team in Hudson, Wisconsin.
This is an important role that sits at the intersection of financial planning and implementation. You’ll work closely with Advisors to help turn financial planning recommendations into action - coordinating the operational details, paperwork, account activity, and workflows necessary to ensure strategies are implemented accurately and efficiently.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical and operational side of wealth management, takes pride in getting the details right, and wants to become an integral part of a close-knit team.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist with the preparation and implementation of comprehensive financial plans
- Gather, input, and maintain accurate client data within financial planning tools
- Manage financial planning recommendation checklists and related CRM updates
- Coordinate the operational steps required to implement Advisor recommendations
- Support new account openings, rollovers, transfers, and client onboarding
- Process non-discretionary trades as directed by Lead Advisors or established investment strategy
- Coordinate ACHs, wires, journals, and other asset movements
- Prepare, process, and track client paperwork through Docu Sign and traditional methods
- Manage workflows within custodial systems, including transfers, work baskets, and cash exceptions
- Monitor planning and portfolio systems for changes, updates, and drift
- Maintain accurate and complete client records within the CRM
- Partner closely with Advisors to ensure planning recommendations are implemented accurately and on time
- Coordinate with investment operations, compliance, billing, and trading teams as needed
- Identify workflow inefficiencies and recommend opportunities to improve processes
- Stay current on financial planning strategies, tax considerations, technology, and industry best practices
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 3+ years of experience in wealth management, financial planning support, investment operations, or a related financial services role
- Series 65 license, ChFC, CFP® designation, or progress toward a relevant professional designation preferred
- Strong understanding of financial planning concepts, investment products, and asset classes
- Experience with custodial platforms such as Pershing or NetX
360+ preferred - Experience working within a CRM
- Familiarity with financial planning and portfolio technology such as eMoney, Black Diamond, Holistiplan, or Pontera is a plus
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to independently manage responsibilities while collaborating effectively across teams
- Technologically proficient and comfortable learning and adapting to new systems
Why This Opportunity:
This is an opportunity to join a tight-knit, collaborative wealth management team where your work will have a direct impact on the client experience.
Rather than being limited to one narrow function, you'll have exposure to the full implementation process - from financial planning recommendations through account setup, asset movement, investment execution, and ongoing workflow management.
For someone who enjoys the technical side of financial planning and wants to continue building their expertise, this position offers meaningful responsibility, professional development, and significant long-term growth potential within the firm.
