Job Description Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Fabrication Designer 2 to support our prefabrication team. In this role you’ll work closely with Manufacturing Designers to create prefabrication parts using tools such as Inventor, and assist in translating electrical construction needs into buildable designs. The position focuses on designing for efficient on‑site installation and collaboration with shop, field, and VDC teams.
Role & Responsibilities- Design and model custom components, assemblies, and prefabrication for electrical systems.
- Optimize designs for manufacturability and on‑site installation efficiency, ensuring compliance with NEC and other industry standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, electricians, and installers to refine designs and guarantee ease of installation and maintenance.
- Prepare bill of materials (BOMs) and assembly instructions for manufacturing teams.
- Maintain accurate records of design revisions and project updates.
- Identify and implement opportunities for product innovation and continuous improvement.
- Two‑year degree in electrical construction, electrical design for construction or a related field.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Welding knowledge and basic comprehension of metallurgy (preferred).
- 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing, product development, or VDC prefabrication environments.
- Basic knowledge of electrical design and experience in a fast‑paced, multi‑project environment.
- Proficiency in Solid Works or Inventor; knowledge of Autodesk Revit is a plus.
- Understanding of prefabrication processes and electrical systems, installation methods, NEC codes, and practices.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence and align cross‑functional teams.
- Excellent problem‑solving and practical, hands‑on approach to challenges.
- Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey complex ideas to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Office environment. May require bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, or crawling. Occasional lifting up to 10 pounds.
Pay Range$76,800.00 – $ yearly, based on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
