Hudsonville Public Schools is seeking a skilled educator or industry professional to lead a high school woodworking program focused on craftsmanship, design thinking, and real-world technical skills. This role is ideal for candidates with backgrounds in carpentry, furniture design, fabrication, or industrial arts who want to mentor students and make a lasting impact.
This position is for the school year, and is paid according to the Teacher Contract Scale per Hudsonville Public Schools’ HEA Contract.
Role Highlights- Teach project-based woodworking courses from foundational skills through advanced builds
- Lead students in furniture construction, joinery techniques, and design planning
- Maintain a professional-grade shop and ensure safety standards
- Support student career pathways in skilled trades and technical fields
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Technology Education, Industrial Arts, or related field
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate (IX or TE) or eligibility to obtain certification
- Professional or applied woodworking experience strongly valued
- Hands‑on learning environment
- Strong support for CTE programs
- Opportunity to inspire the next generation of makers and trades professionals
