Summary: Hudsonville’s Middle School Cross Country Coach is responsible for overseeing the Cross Country team and promoting growth and excellence among student‑athletes.
Responsibilities- Organize and work with Athletic Director to schedule the Cross Country season
- Lead team practices and conditioning sessions
- Coordinate travel plans for away meets
- Teach necessary skills for individual and team achievement
- Create a positive learning experience for all team members
- Maintain all records, statistics, and awards information
- Maintain ongoing communication with team members, parents, and media
- Attend practices, games, and meetings punctually
- Evidence of expertise in sport
- Preferably previous coaching or history playing sport
- Current knowledge of rules, fundamentals, teamwork
- Strong commitment to building a successful program for student‑athletes
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Good role model for student‑athletes
- Strong love of the sport and interest in helping individuals reach their highest potential
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from the community, regulatory agencies, or staff members.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, and interpret technical instructions.
Physical DemandsPosition requires standing and walking, frequent lifting up to 20 pounds, occasional lifting up to 40 pounds, listening, speaking clearly, visual acuity, frequent repetitive action on a keyboard.
