Job Title

Hiring for 26-27 school year, 28.75 hours per week

Under teacher direction, provide instructional and social-emotional/behavior accommodations and interventions.

Assist students with health, medical or physical needs (e.g. transferring, diapering, bath rooming, etc.)

Assist teams in the implementation of positive behavior support plans or emergency intervention plans

Assist teams with data collection

Respect individual student strengths and needs and maintain confidentiality at all times

Actively support district, school, and classroom norms and philosophy

Professionally engage with parents, staff, and administrators in supporting student success

Other duties as assigned

Prefer two years of study at an institution of higher education, but not required

Demonstrate, through passage of an approved formal state academic assessment in the following areas:
Knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics; or Knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness, as appropriate.

Experience in the school setting, preferred

Ability to read and understand instructional materials present to students

Ability to develop effective working relationships with all students, staff and school community

Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district and BOE policies

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from the community, regulatory agencies or staff members.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and ledgers.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
