Summary :
The Director of Early Childhood is responsible for the overall general management including the direction, oversight, quality of experience, and programming at the Early Childhood Center and its satellite programs. They also promote each child's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development in a nurturing environment.
Description:
- Maintain compliance with all state licensing regulations, including fire and health codes
- Maintain a positive relationship with state and local consultants
- Maintain the Great Start to Quality rating system
- Keep accurate records for food program
- Maintenance of food program, implementation, training, and evaluation of all involved
- Direct the recruiting, screening, orientation and training of staff and make recommendations on the placement of staff.
- Lead/Assist in public relations and community activities for the Early Childhood Center
- Maintain enrollment and attendance for Early Childhood programs
- Ability to deal with abstract as well as with concrete problematic people/children and situations such as dissatisfied and angry parents and children
- Support Child Support process and consult on child's behavioral or learning problems, and implements methods of modifying inappropriate behavior and encouraging learning experiences
- Arranges medical attention for ill or injured children in accordance with parental instructions and program policies
- Attendance of IEP meetings to support student supports
- Conduct Observations on plan adherence
- Leadswith training staff; plans, assigns and directs work; rewards and disciplines staff; and addresses complaints and resolves problems.
- Leads/Assists Summer Camp
- Oversees the leadership and program management of GSRPGrant , as a partnership with Ottawa ISD.
- Attending ISD GSRP meetings, maintaining student records, and supporting parent connections.
- Provide Parent Advisory meetings 2x a year
- Manage Parent connections and communication
- Assists in Hudsonville Public Schools SOAR goals
- Attendance to Administrative Professional Development and Meetings as Assigned
- Oversees supervising all Volunteers, and Interns.
- Coaching and mentoring Site Supervisors and their teams
- Implements Teacher Observations of Certified Staff (if certified Administrator)
- Create and Implement a Summer Camp program each summer, June to August.
- Problem solve immediate and ongoing obstacles that arise
- Perform any other duty so assigned.

Education and/or
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education / Elementary Education or a related field required; 2 semester hours in child care administration; three to five years experience with licensed child-care management and development
- Preferred Masters in K-12 Administration or willingness to receive state certification in K-12 Administration
- Preferred Knowledge in Special Education, State, and Federal Law
- Preferred Experience in Grants and Budgeting
- Preferred supervision experience
- At least three years of experience working with children
- Meet the state-accredited rating requirement and be registered as Director qualified as required by the State
- Must have a current first aid and CPR card
- Obtain a TB test (negative result) before beginning employment
- Be able to clear a State criminal background check
- Must excel in problem solving and working in varied situations.
- Must demonstrate an enthusiasm for working with children, young adults and adults.
- Must be physically able to perform all duties required of this position.
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $115,000 Per Year
