Salary Range: $56,000 - $88,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for manufacturing projects.
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Collaborate with engineering and sales teams to develop accurate proposals.
• Evaluate vendor quotes and subcontractor bids for completeness and accuracy.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with cost estimates.
• Maintain and update a database of cost estimation data.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience in manufacturing estimating, preferably within a job shop or custom fabrication environment.
• Demonstrated proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications (GD&T knowledge preferred).
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and labor costs (e.g., machining, welding, assembly, finishing).
• Proven ability to accurately calculate material take-offs, labor hours, and overhead for complex projects.
• Experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems and estimating software (e.g., JobBOSS, E2 Shop System, Sage) for quoting and cost analysis.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for cost tracking and analysis.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and their impact on cost estimation.
• Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, CAPM) or related fields.
• Proficiency in advanced Excel functions (e.g., macros, VBA) for complex modeling.
