Center Medical Specialist – Plasma Donation Center

- Perform physical examinations and establish medical histories to determine donor suitability.
- Build rapport with donors to ensure overall customer satisfaction.
- Ensure donor and staff confidentiality.
- Educate donors on potential hazards and provide counseling regarding unacceptable test results.
- Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events.
- Perform evaluations of any history of illness or medications to ensure continued donor suitability.
- Assist in employee training.
- Administer the employee Hepatitis Vaccine program.
- Licensed or Certified:
Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Paramedic, or EMT in the state of employment. - Current CPR certification required.
- Work is performed both standing and sitting for up to 2–4 hours per day.
- Requires bending, twisting, and frequent hand, foot, and wrist movements.
- Light lifting up to 15 lbs, with a maximum lift of 50 lbs.
- Hearing acuity essential.
- Color perception and near vision of at least 20/30 in one eye and 20/100 in the other.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to variable demands and changing conditions.
- Experience with biological fluids and potential exposure to infectious organisms.
- Experience with laboratory equipment and exposure to extreme cold (below 32°F). Personal protective equipment required.
