Job Overview

Fairview is seeking a Site Medical Lead – Family Medicine Physician who will serve as the front‑line provider lead at the M Health Fairview Clinic – Hugo location. The role partners with the Clinic Manager, Clinical Supervisor, and providers to meet day‑to‑day patient care needs and support key projects. The Lead ensures coordination, direction, and collaboration of services and resources related to the discipline and achieves productivity, financial and operational goals.

Job Expectations

Daily Clinical Operations

  • Serves as point of first contact to address front‑line provider or patient issues.
  • Works in partnership with Clinic Manager and Clinical Supervisor to address issues and, as needed, escalates them to the Medical and/or Operations Director. Collaborates to evaluate clinic schedules, drive operational efficiency and patient experience, and promote a team environment.
  • Responds first to COMPASS events and reports outcome to medical director.
  • Ensures completion of annual provider requirements such as LMS requirements and license renewal.
  • Champions execution of Service Line quality and safety improvement projects for the site.
  • Facilitates monthly staff meetings in collaboration with the clinic management team.
  • Supports recruitment for the clinic in partnership with the Medical Director, including participation in interviews, candidate selection, onboarding, and mentoring of new providers.
  • Assists the Medical Director in the annual performance review process by gathering provider documentation and providing performance feedback.
  • Collaborates regularly with the Clinic Leadership Team (Medical Director, Operations Director, Clinic Manager, Clinical Supervisor).
  • Performs all clinical practice duties required within the primary care provider role.

    • Provides patient education based on assessment of learning needs of patient/caregiver.

    • Complies with and maintains knowledge of all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards.
  • Fosters a culture of improvement, efficiency and innovative thinking.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • BC/BE through NCCPA.
  • Licensed or able to obtain a PA license with prescriptive authority through the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.

NURSE PRACTITIONER

  • Graduate of a school of nursing and accredited formal Family Nurse Practitioner training program.
  • BC/BE through the AANP or ANCC.
  • Licensed or able to obtain APRN license with the Minnesota Board of Nursing.
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota.
  • Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges (if required).

Compensation Disclaimer

The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization values pay equity and considers the internal equity of our team when making any offer. Positions with the same min/max are flat rate jobs based on 40 hours/week. Compensation plans based on production can allow for higher pay than the range posted.
