Class A Driver- Metal Recycling

Description

The Dem-Con Metals truck driver position is responsible for driving Roll Off trucks, tractor-trailers, lugger truck and or dock truck for collection services to ensure our customers’ expectations are met in transporting or disposing various metals to the appropriate location.

• Operates heavy duty commercial trucks and tractor-trailers
• Performs required pre-trip & post trip inspections and provides required reports
• Provides outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations
• Maintains all required certifications required by DOT
• Adheres to all OSHA and company safety programs
• Maintains and protects all property
• Informs on-duty mechanic of any maintenance issues with equipment and/or vehicles
• Maintains various records and/or logs as needed per DOT regulations
• Fuels truck at the end of each workday
• Aids in keeping Customer location and/or facility clean by picking up litter around site
• Communicate effectively with management, dispatch and all division employees
• Performs other related duties as assigned

• Have a valid Minnesota CDL Class A
• Ability to pass a DOT physical and maintain a valid health card and license
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds

Outdoor environment; exposure to extreme weather conditions; work with and around heavy trucks and machinery; exposure to dust and fumes from motorized equipment; exposure to noise, odors and gases; exposure to heavy traffic conditions, possible exposure to toxic chemicals.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
