The Lead Dispatcher / Route Analyst coordinates daily operational dispatch activities while analyzing and optimizing routes, schedules, and resource deployment to ensure efficient, safe, and cost‑effective service delivery. The position serves as a working lead, providing guidance to dispatch staff, supporting operational decision‑making, and improving routing performance through data analysis and continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities include performing dispatch and routing tasks, designing and maintaining safe routes using routing software, checking drivers in and out of each route, taking incoming phone calls and messages, relaying information to appropriate staff, assisting drivers and aides with routes, printing maps and directions, walking through bus stop issues, issuing keys, and working under general direction of the Director of Transportation.

High school diploma or GED and considerable experience working in transportation logistics or pupil transport, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Associate’s or technical degree preferred.

Valid driver’s license. Must be able to obtain a school bus license.
