Dohrn is seeking a Full Time Class B Driver at our Centerville Terminal.

Pay $28.06/Hour to start and $31.09/Hour after the first year!

Hours Monday‑Friday, Dayshift

Position Summary

Drive a straight truck between customer locations to deliver and pick up freight.

Essential Functions
  • Drive a commercial vehicle safely while picking up and delivering general freight.
  • Load and unload truck either individually or with assistance of dockworkers. Mechanical freight handling equipment may be used where available and appropriate.
  • Perform frequent lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying of freight.
  • Secure freight through strapping or other methods when required.
  • Inspect the vehicle for defects and ensure safe operating conditions as required by law and company policy.
  • Comply with all Federal requirements regarding the transportation of Hazardous Materials.
  • Drive a straight truck in all conditions in accordance with federal regulations, normally within hours of service limitations, followed by an off‑dui period as required by regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations, including driver logs and other records required by law.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all federal, state and local regulations for the safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle.
Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum age of 21.
  • At least 1 year of verifiable class B equipment experience.
  • Must pass a road test administered by a Dohrn Transfer Driver Trainer.
  • Must possess, or obtain within the required time period, and maintain Hazardous Material and Tanker endorsements on current valid driver's license issued by resident state.
  • Must have only one valid CDL issued by resident state; recent out‑of‑state transfers must provide former license or verification.
  • No DUI/OWI or Reckless Driving citations or convictions within the previous 5 years.
  • Maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • Pass a Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). examination and functional screen.
  • Consent to a pre‑employment drug screen; negative result required.
  • Negative controlled substances and alcohol results from prior employer(s) for the past three years.
  • No refusal to submit to an alcohol or controlled substance test within the past three years.
  • Consent to a 10‑year employment history check; disclose any gaps of 30 days or more and provide documentation if requested.
  • Ability to read and write English and perform simple mathematical calculations.
  • At‑will employment; no guaranteed employment period or contractual employment.
Working Conditions /

Physical Requirements
  • Grip various sizes and weights up to 100 pounds.
  • Lifting of up to 100 pounds from ground level to 45”; lifting at waist level or 36”.
  • Front‑carry up to 100 pounds for 250 feet.
  • Push/pull up to 60 pounds of horizontal force.
  • Sitting up to 10 hours per day.
  • Standing and walking frequently.
  • Climbing, squatting, crouching, balancing, or kneeling occasionally.
  • Crawling rarely.
  • Reaching frequently while shifting gears, moving freight, loading/unloading trailers and turning steering wheel.
  • Grasping and handling freight, opening/closing trailer doors, and operating front jacks frequently.
  • Verbal communication with coworkers and customers required.
  • Vision used constantly to drive, read maps, inspect truck.
  • Smell used occasionally to check for leaks.
  • Hearing used frequently for unusual sounds or warning sounds of vehicle problems.
  • Possibility of exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity, wetness, dust, gas, fumes or chemicals.
