Children's Home Deputy Manager
Join Compass Community as a Children's Home Deputy Manager and work in a children’s home that makes a positive, lasting difference to children’s lives.
About the RoleThis Deputy Manager role is ideal for experienced Senior Residential Workers or existing Deputy Managers who are looking to further develop their leadership skills within residential childcare.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities- Ensure the welfare and care of each child, creating positive relationships and safeguarding them.
- Supervise staff, lead shifts, and ensure placement plans, policies, procedures, risk assessments and rotas are followed, supporting education.
- Provide guidance and support to all residential workers.
- Teach life skills and support children’s journey into adulthood.
- Beautifully decorated homes, with generous budgets for holidays, recreational activities and special events.
- Direct therapeutic work driven by industry leading psychologists and practise.
- Bespoke time‑saving incident reporting system.
- “Skills to Care” induction, two weeks of classroom training and a week of shadow shifts.
- Structured pay grades; salary based on training and experience.
- £50 per sleep‑in.
- Earn up to £3,250 by recommending a foster carer or up to £1,000 by recommending a full‑time staff member.
- £100 bonus for a ‘Good’ Ofsted outcome, £200 bonus for ‘Outstanding’. Service awards: £200 (2 years), £400 (5 years), £600 (10 years) plus up to £500 special recognition award for outstanding practice.
- Access to health and wellbeing support platform, Medi Cash scheme and REACH Awards vouchers up to £150 each month.
- NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare.
- At least 2 years of experience within Residential Childcare and working alongside young people.
- Age 22 years or above.
- Valid driving licence.
