Under ’s Coordinator; Room Leader

Are you a Childcare professional with demonstrated leadership skills and an ability to provide a stimulating programme of age appropriate activities with the support of your team and environment? We are recruiting a Childcare Coordinator (Room Leader), initially for our Under 2’s group at our Bumbles on the Hill setting.

At present, this is where we require the skilled expertise of an organised, positive team player with leadership qualities, but like all Coordinator’s at Bumbles, you would be required to be adaptable to work within any age group when required.

Our Under 2’s group is a large space within a beautiful schoolhouse building suitable for up to 12 babies any given day, and requires a ratio of 1:3. With a calming sleep room connected to the room and easy access to large outdoor gardens, we are looking for someone passionate who can inspire and lead a great team and ensure a consistent and fun-filled day at nursery!

? We are currently recruiting a Coordinator (Room leader) for:

38 hours per week (7:45am to 6pm over 4 days, 45 minute unpaid lunch)

£29,244 per annum

Annual leave entitlement from 1st Jan: 221 hours (for 4 day week / 38hrs)

N.N.E.B / N.V.Q. / CCLD / Playwork / BTec LEVEL 3 (or equivalent) or Foundation Degree in Early Childhood Studies or BA Hons Early Childhood Studies / 12-18 months experience of working with children working within a similar setting / Current First Aid or Paediatric First Aid / Current Child Protection Training / Enthusiasm for CPD

Food Safety Qualification / Health and Safety Qualification / Clean Driving Licence / Ability to drive a 7 or 9 seater company vehicle / Strong IT skills / Good understanding of Famly or other cloud-based management apps / Forest School Qualification

A Level 5 qualification is also desired, or the drive to want to complete further qualifications in order to progress in the future.

Alongside a comprehensive induction during your first few weeks, mandatory training that would be required for everyone starting at Bumbles includes Safeguarding, First Aid and Food Safety & Hygiene. These courses are all organised in-house at Bumbles and you are paid for your time at our Training rate of pay.

As a Childcare Coordinator (Room Leader), your role is to provide safe, high quality education and care for children ages approximately 6 months – 11 years. You will lead and work as part of a team in providing a safe, caring, happy and stimulating environment for the children in our care. You will carry out all relevant duties without direct supervision and train / supervise qualified and unqualified staff, volunteers and students, e.g. induction training / on the job training / specific improvement training arising from supervisory meetings etc.

You will ensure that the high standards of care, service, safety and hygiene are maintained according to all Bumbles Day Care policies, procedures and routines.

You may be required to undertake some Person-In-Charge responsibilities in the absence of a Manager or Senior Coordinator.

This may mean being based within various groups around each of Bumbles settings for periods of time – you may not always be based within the same group.
