Electrical Project Engineer – AVRS

Thames Water and Anglian Water regions
Competitive salary | Contracted hours: 42 per week (Monday–Friday) | Paid travel time in addition to contracted hours
We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Project Engineer to join AVRS, part of the Galliford Try group. Following several long‑term framework awards, we are looking for ambitious individuals with a strong industrial background to support long‑term projects within the Water Treatment Sector. Projects range from £5k to £10m, where we act as Principal Contractor and Principal Designer, as well as supporting Tier 1 contractor clients. This is a permanent position, offering stability and growth within a thriving team.
- Supporting the electrical supervisor and a team of electricians to ensure the scope of works is safely completed to a high standard in line with the programme.
- Engaging with the AVRS design team and Compliance Manager to ensure works comply with BS7671 and client specifications.
- Supporting the completion of electrical installations in accordance with BS7671 and AVRS Electrical safety rules.
- Engaging with AVRS’s positive safety culture.
- Ensuring that all Health and Safety legislation and regulations are adhered to and promote a positive culture.
- Ensuring that all items are installed to the highest standards, in compliance with the contract and the Project quality plan.
- Ensuring all required project documentation is completed to the required standard ready for O&M handover in line with the Quality Plan and Inspection Test Plan.
- Coaching and mentoring Supervisors and Electricians.
- Collaborating effectively within a growing team.
- SSSTS/SMSTS or equivalent
- ECS gold card
- Full UK driving licence
- Appropriate trade qualification(s)
- Ability to interpret electrical installation drawings (SLD, BCD termination Drawings)
- Experience as an Electrical Project Engineer or Supervisor
- Ability to manage own workload and project tasks with minimal supervision
- Emergency First Aid or First Aider certification
- Fitness-to-work medical
- EUSR Water Hygiene
- 2391 Test and Inspection
- PASMA / IPAF / Confined Space
- COMPEX
- Industrial experience
