Oxfordshire County Council’s Tree Service is looking to recruit three Tree Officer positions. Two roles are existing vacancies and one is a new opening. The role focuses on proactive tree care, tree retention and canopy growth across the county.
About you- Experienced Tree Officer/Arboriculturist seeking a new challenge.
- Recently qualified arboriculturist looking to gain practical experience.
- Tree Surgeon/Climbing Arborist ready to advance their career.
- Passionate about increasing canopy cover and shaping tree management policy.
- Conduct large‑scale street surveys and site‑specific surveys.
- Perform ad‑hoc inspections.
- Build strong working relationships with tree contractors to improve outcomes.
- Educate and engage with the public, councillors and council colleagues.
- Initiate and manage own projects.
- Manage time and deliver work within the allocated schedule.
- Own and maintain responsibility for a designated area.
- Identify opportunities for tree planting.
- Promote proactive tree care and communicate benefits of trees across the county.

- Support from experienced tree professionals.
- County work van provided where required.

- 30 days holiday per annum plus bank holidays (increases to 32 after 10 years of service).
