The Assistant Controller is a full-time, on-site role based in Humble, TX. We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Assistant Controller to join our Accounting/Finance team. This newly created role partners closely with the CFO to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and efficient day-to-day accounting functions. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting knowledge, leadership potential, and a proactive approach to process improvement.

- Manage daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting
- Assist in preparing monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Manage inventory and profitability reporting
- Prepare supporting schedules, reconciliations, and documentation for balance sheet accounts and necessary journal entries
- Support forecasting, profitability analysis, budgets, and accruals
- Assist with process improvements, policies, and financial workflows
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales and Operations to strengthen communication and internal controls
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
- 4-8 years of progressive accounting experience
- 1-3 years of experience in a senior accounting, accounting manager, or assistant controller role
- Strong Excel and analytical skills
- Professional presence and excellent communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with executives, project managers, and operational leaders
- CPA designation or actively pursuing CPA certification (receive hours under the CFO)
- 2-4 years of public accounting experience
- Manufacturing industry or inventory-based audit experience
- Wants exposure to operations and executive leadership
