Lake Houston and East Montgomery City Lifestyle are premium community publications serving our local communities.
We're looking for a high-ownership, relationship-driven Editor who loves people, storytelling, community, and execution.
This is not a sit-behind-a-screen writing job.
This role requires someone who enjoys being in the community, building relationships with business owners and local leaders, leading content creation, and making sure every issue is executed with excellence.
What You'll Own- Lead editorial planning for two monthly publications
- Source compelling local stories, businesses, nonprofits, families, and community leaders
- Conduct interviews and develop feature stories
- Coordinate photo shoots and visual storytelling
- Manage freelance writers, photographers, and contributors
- Own editorial deadlines and production schedules
- Collaborate with team on monthly editorial strategy
- Ensure every issue reflects premium brand standards
- Highly organized
- Strong communicator
- Comfortable interviewing business owners and community leaders
- Naturally relational and confident in person
- Able to manage multiple deadlines without being managed

- Must be available for local meetings, interviews, photo shoots, and community events

- Help shape the voice of two respected local publications
- We provide comprehensive training on all essential editorial tasks and ongoing development support from corporate and national editorial teams
- Build meaningful relationships in the community
