Job DescriptionPosition Summary: Director will be responsible for the discipline of students, supervision and mentoring of faculty, and development of a positive school culture. The Campus Director is fully responsible for the implementation of the Classical Curriculum, cultivating moral character, and partnering with parents. The role supports Responsive Ed Classical Academies, centered on Charlotte Mason’s philosophy of rich, generous curriculum and individualized learning.
QualificationsEducation / Certification
- Four‑year degree from an accredited college or university (master’s preferred)
- Teaching certificate or school administrator certificate (preferred)
- 5+ years in an educational environment
- 3+ years working with administrative leadership, stakeholders, or education personnel on school improvement, learning facilitation, or related interests
- 3+ years supervising a staff of 5 or more
- 3+ years managing budgets
- Advanced knowledge of federal and state education laws
- Strong organizational, time‑management, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Clear understanding of student development within the classical approach
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with students, parents, teachers, the community, administrative staff, and regional directors
- Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and student data (diagnostic tests, state assessments, transcripts, GPA)
- Public speaking ability on a frequent basis
- Visionary for the future of the school
- Ability to explain what a classical education is
- Willingness to travel as necessary
- Directly supervise employees per organization policies and applicable laws
- Interview, hire, and train employees
- Plan, assign, and direct work
- Appraise staff performance, reward and discipline employees according to policies, and resolve complaints and problems
- Advocate, nurture, and sustain a school culture and instructional program that promotes student learning and staff professional growth
- Manage organization operations and resources for a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment
- Collaborate with faculty and community; respond to diverse interests and mobilize community resources
- Act with integrity, fairness, and in an ethical manner
- Understand and influence the political, social, economic, legal, and cultural context of the assigned student population
- Develop and evaluate educational programs to ensure conformity to state and school board standards
- Coordinate educational programs through staff meetings, review teacher activities, and issue directives
