Sales Engineer
Our client located in the Houston area is looking for a Sales Engineer to join their team. This is direct hire, involves heavy travel, and has a competitive base and bonus opportunity - great benefits as well!
Job Duties- Proactively seek out and nurture potential business opportunities through outbound efforts.
- Maintain consistent follow-up with prospects and develop new contacts through self-driven outreach.
- Independently identify and approach new potential clients in alignment with company processes and feedback loops.
- Prepare tailored presentations and solution outlines for clients seeking specialized technical offerings.
- Travel as needed to conduct regular client meetings, build rapport, and advance new or ongoing conversations.
- Oversee and maintain relationships within a designated portfolio of clients or prospects.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other business development team members and internal departments.
- Create and assess strategic growth plans, reviewing key metrics annually to gauge progress.
- Design and update a personal performance dashboard to monitor individual contribution to objectives.
- Stay informed on competitor activities and strategize accordingly to position offerings favorably.
- Build and maintain relationships with primary contacts across target industries and accounts.
- Help organize and take part in brand-building efforts such as industry exhibitions, educational sessions, and networking events.
- Contribute to the creation of marketing assets such as brochures, digital content, and pitch materials.
- Gather and share insights on industry trends and customer expectations to inform team direction.
- Learn the practical applications of the company’s engineering systems, such as fluid transfer and thermal control products, in client environments.
- Expand technical understanding of the organization’s product line and how each can be best utilized.
- Confidently interpret engineering documentation such as schematics, technical specs, and operational procedures.
- Pursue ongoing skill development aligned with career goals.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for long-term contribution and professional growth within the organization.
- Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
- 5-10 years of sales closing experience required
- Heat Transfer experience is a plus.
- Experience with vacuum producing static equipment and rotating equipment is a plus
