Mechanical Design Engineer – Drill Bits

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing drill bits and supporting operations across regions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance product performance, improve manufacturing processes, and deliver high-quality engineering solutions aligned with customer needs.

Responsibilities
  • Creating drill bit designs and manufacturing packages using 3D modeling and data management systems
  • Supporting NAL Central & NE Operations by providing design expertise aligned with regional requirements
  • Interfacing with Product Line Management, Operations, Manufacturing, and Technology teams to improve product performance and efficiency
  • Engaging directly with customers to understand technical needs, gather feedback, and ensure satisfaction
  • Documenting and sharing lessons learned across cross-functional teams
  • Supporting manufacturing teams with troubleshooting, problem solving, and issue resolution
  • Ensuring all work aligns with HSE, Quality, Legal compliance, and organizational cultural standards
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • 5–10 years of relevant engineering experience
  • Experience working with 3D CAD systems
  • Experience with simulation tools such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
  • Ability to select appropriate engineering techniques, perform analysis, and make sound design recommendations
  • Knowledge of mechanical component design and applied engineering principles
  • Ability to drive adherence to product design standards and support continuous updates
  • Capability to lead engineering projects with limited supervision
