Position Summary: Undergeneralsupervision, providesessentialfront‐linecustomerservicefor
Cityof Humble Municipal Court by performing routine clerical and accounting duties. Duties include processing citations, collecting fees and fines, scheduling court dates, trials or hearings and works with the Municipal Court Judge to conduct Court business.
Dutiesand Responsibilities:
- Reviewandprocessallincomingcitations,warnings,complaints,etc.forcompletenessandaccuracy.
- Collectionoffeesandfines,schedulingcourtdates,trialsorhearings.
- Preparecourtdockets,jury charges,subpoenas,andavarietyofcorrespondencetodefendantsand/or attorneys.
- Workwiththe Municipal Court Judgeinthecourtroomandconductthe Courtsbusinessinaprofessionalmanner .
- Perform under time restraints, high volume workload and produce a significant volume of work efficiently and in a timely manner.
- Work under high pressure including distractions, heavy phone volume and must be able to handle difficult people with professionalism.
- Maintainfilesandcorrespondenceforthecourt.
- Use Municipal Court software and programs, public records retention software and programs, and remain current on upgrades or changes.
- Providesassistanceandinformationtothepublic
- Anyotherdutiesasassigned.
Knowledge,Skills,and Abilities:
- Requirestimelyanddependableattendanceatwork.
- Ability to multi‐task and remain calm in stressful or demanding situations.
- Familiar with public records retention requirements, public records retention software and programs, and Municipal Court software.
- Knowledge of court operations and municipal laws.
- Possess strong organizational, computer and basic accounting skills.
- High School diploma or GED
- Municipal Court experience (preferred)
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in customer service and cash receipts
- Experience using MS office applications
- Bilingual is a plus, but not required
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
- Experience with Municipal Court software and public records retention software and programs
- Must be able to pass physical, drug screen and background check.

This job is performed primarily in a controlled office environment and may experience periods of working under tight schedules and deadlines, multiple distractions, heavy phone volume and difficult situations with the public.
