Texas Oncology is looking for a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) - Infusion to join our team! This position will support the Humble, Texas
. Typical work week is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a – 5:00 p with no call, weekends or major holidays.

Long-Term Incentive Plan (LTIP)

The LTIP is an incentive program that vests over a three‑year period and is tied to individual performance and operational success. Awards are discretionary, reviewed annually, and governed by the LTIP document.

What does the Certified Medical Assistant do?

Under direct supervision, assists physicians and clinicians with patient care duties in a clinical environment. Promotes efficient patient flow and care, performs clinic support tasks, answers phones, and maintains physician schedules.

Responsibilities
  • Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms.
  • Record patient data prior to each physician visit, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
  • Obtain all necessary patient records as required by the physician prior to treatment or procedures.
  • Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies as needed.
  • Assist physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
  • Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, as delegated by RN or physician.
  • Maintain all exam/treatment room disinfection protocols.
  • Answer patient telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse/pharmacist.
  • Inform physician of patient reschedules and no‑shows.
  • Perform other administrative duties, e.g., typing, filing, faxing, chart preparation, reception, as requested by supervisor or physician.
  • May enter orders under a provider’s direction and supervision.
Qualifications Level I
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants preferred.
  • Zero to three years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant.
  • Current BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
  • Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Some state regulations may require specific certifications in order to work as a Medical Assistant.
Level II
  • Minimum three years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant.
  • Phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
Level Senior
  • Minimum five years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant in a hospital or clinic setting.
  • Current BLS certification required.
Physical Demands

Requires full range of body motion, handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, standing and walking for extended periods, occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs, and corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Work Environment

Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment may occur.
