Townsen Memorial Health System is looking for a Full-Time Physical Therapist!
SUMMARYThe Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating, planning, and providing evidence-based physical therapy services to patients to restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or reduce physical limitations resulting from injury, illness, or surgery. Working in close collaboration with the Physical Therapy Director, physicians, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members, this position develops individualized treatment plans that promote optimal patient outcomes while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
- Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations to assess patient needs, functional limitations, and rehabilitation potential.
- Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals based on physician orders, patient assessments, and evidence-based practice.
- Administer therapeutic interventions to improve patient function, mobility, and quality of life.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate.
- Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, home exercise programs, and injury prevention strategies.
- Accurately document patient evaluations, treatments, progress, and discharge plans in the electronic medical record.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to coordinate patient care.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, regulatory, and professional practice standards.
- Collaborate with the Physical Therapy Director to support quality patient care, departmental goals, and rehabilitation program development.
- Assist the Physical Therapy Director with daily department operations to support efficient patient care delivery.
- Provide recommendations regarding equipment, workflow improvements, and patient care processes.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized treatment environment.
- May require availability outside of normal working hours to support operational or clinical needs.
- May require travel between system locations.
Perform other related tasks as needed.
- Thorough knowledge of physical therapy principles, rehabilitation techniques, anatomy, physiology, and evidence-based practice.
- Strong clinical assessment, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans based on patient progress and physician recommendations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to educate patients, families, and caregivers.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, the Physical Therapy Director, interdisciplinary team members, patients, and families.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple patients and responsibilities.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) documentation and basic computer applications.
- Knowledge of patient safety standards, infection prevention practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as a member of a collaborative healthcare team.
- Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
- Ability to adapt to changing departmental priorities and contribute to the growth and development of rehabilitation services.
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from an accredited college or university required
- Active Licensed Physical Therapist in the State of Texas
- Two (2) years of physical therapy experience in a hospital or health system
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certified
- Valid Texas Driver License
- 3 Medical Plans
