Our client is seeking an experienced Buyer to support purchasing and supply chain operations in a fast‑paced engineered‑to‑order (ETO) manufacturing environment. This is a 6‑month contract position.
The ideal candidate will have experience purchasing electrical or electro‑mechanical parts and components as well as managing supplier relationships to ensure the timely and cost‑effective purchase of materials to support production.
Responsibilities- Procure materials, components, equipment, tools, and services to support manufacturing operations.
- Review and process purchase requisitions while ensuring timely order placement and delivery.
- Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, lead times, and delivery schedules.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and supplier agreements to achieve cost savings and improve performance.
- Expedite critical orders and resolve supplier delivery issues as needed.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships while monitoring supplier performance.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, planning, and sales teams to ensure material availability and support demand forecasts.
- Assist with inventory planning and management to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Support component standardization initiatives and help drive continuous improvement within the supply chain.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records within the ERP system.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3+ years of purchasing and supply chain experience within an engineered‑to‑order (ETO) manufacturing environment.
- Electrical component purchasing experience is highly desired.
- Strong supplier management, sourcing, and contract negotiation experience.
- Experience working with ERP systems | Net Suite experience preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
