Assistant Manager – Store LeaderThe Assistant Manager leads the store in the absence of, or in support of, the Store Manager, acting as a business owner within the Lens Crafters organization. The role delivers key performance metrics while providing a premier vision experience to the community.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver quality and improvement to exceed all KPIs: sales, conversion, traffic, profitability, continuity of care, exam growth, retention, Net Promoter Score, and annual objectives.
- Translate retail knowledge into positive sales results and understand market dynamics.
- Support and drive store business plans to maximize sales and profitability.
- Partner with the store manager to lead and develop the team, providing constructive feedback and development support.
- Execute visual directives and maintain store appearance.
- Maintain positive relationships with doctors and ensure team compliance with all policies.
- Perform administrative duties and work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- 1+ year(s) management/supervisory experience with direct reports.
- Knowledge of retail operations, processes, and policies.
- Strong basic math skills.
- Familiarity with cash registers, computers, and calculators.
- Strong command of the English language for written and oral communication.
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- High-level selling skills and proven problem‑solving ability.
- College degree or equivalent.
- Previous leadership experience in retail and customer service.
- Knowledge of basic optics and current store merchandise.
- State licensure (if applicable) and/or ABO certification in non‑licensed states.
- Brand Final Inspector certification.
- Experience with brand quality, fitting, and adjusting programs.
