Position: Industrial Maintenance Technician (Night Shift)

Industrial Maintenance Technician (Night Shift 8pm – 4am)

This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining all manufacturing equipment within production areas. The role also requires understanding and applying Quality Management Systems such as SQF, HACCP, and GMP to ensure the safety and quality of employees and products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a broad range of maintenance activities, from basic facility repairs to complex electrical and mechanical troubleshooting of production equipment.
  • Assist in the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of high‑voltage (480 V) equipment.
  • Identify and repair electrical systems and mechanical defects across production equipment and facility infrastructure.
  • Participate as a Maintenance Lead for assigned area teams to support Line‑Centric Teams.
  • Effectively complete assigned Preventative Maintenance Plans on schedule to eliminate unplanned downtime.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis on equipment and process failures to provide insight and suggest corrective actions.
  • Collaborate in a team environment, understanding that a unified group yields stronger results.
  • Train operators on maintenance techniques when called to troubleshoot or repair equipment.
  • Complete preventative maintenance and other reliability tasks; assist in diagnostics, repairs, and rebuilds of machines; partner with engineering or others on non‑routine repairs and defect‑handling solutions.
  • Understand Quality Systems management and be familiar with SQF, HACCP, and GMP practices to ensure workplace safety and product quality.
  • Perform other duties as required by supervisor and the reporting structure.
  • Document all maintenance work activity within the CMMS system.
  • Effectively support the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program with a goal of continually reducing unscheduled downtime.
  • Possess strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Operate in the workplace safely, adhering to mechanical, fluid, electrical power, and environmental rules and regulations, including welding.
  • Follow processes to disassemble, reassemble equipment, clean, and test for safe operation.
  • Install, align, and adjust mechanical power transmission components (gearboxes, bearings, chains, shafts, gears).
  • Troubleshoot and repair power transmission, gear alignment, and perform preventative maintenance to extend machine life and prevent unplanned downtime.
  • Use proper measurement tools (dial calipers, vernier micrometer) and calibrate them accurately.
  • Use hoist and other tools to safely rig and move parts and equipment.
  • Determine and apply correct oil and lubricants as specified by machine manufacturer; dispose of used lubricants responsibly.
  • Provide own tools; a required tool list will be supplied and must be present on site within two weeks of hire.
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and test pneumatic systems, including vacuum generators, using schematics.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and install electronic and process control systems by interpreting electrical diagrams and schematics.
  • Use a multimeter to measure voltage, current, continuity, amperage, and resistance; calculate power given current and voltage.
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and test AC/DC/Servo motors in manual and automated control circuits.
  • Perform basic welding with proper PPE and welding process preparation.
  • Record all maintenance work within the CMMS system, following all CMMS processes and procedures.
  • Use CMMS records and OEM drawings to determine improvements for maintainability and identify proper spare parts.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule and willingness to work overtime, including weekends if necessary.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and basic PC skills.
Required
  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience with a strong electrical focus, or a two‑year technical degree with relevant hands‑on experience.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Successfully complete HACCP certification.
  • Proven experience with NPN/PNP sensors and VFDs in complex automation and control systems.
  • Hold a forklift license or complete required training within 90 days of hire.
Preferred
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish).
  • Excellent verbal, written, and mathematical skills; ability to communicate tactfully and courteously interdepartmentally and with co‑workers and vendors.
  • Working knowledge of ovens, bakery equipment, and packaging equipment.
  • Completion of AIB Bakery Equipment training course is helpful.
