Sanitation LeadJob Summary
The Sanitation Lead is responsible for leading and supporting the sanitation team to ensure all equipment, tools, and facility areas are cleaned and sanitized according to company standards. This role oversees daily sanitation activities, ensures compliance with food safety regulations, and provides leadership, training, and accountability to sanitation team members. The Sanitation Lead plays a key role in maintaining a safe, clean, and audit‑ready production environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and supervise a team of sanitation employees, including task assignments and daily schedules
- Monitor employee performance and provide coaching, feedback, or corrective action as needed
- Oversee and participate in the cleaning and sanitization of equipment, machinery, utensils, and facility surfaces
- Ensure sanitation activities follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and company policies
- Ensure proper use, handling, dilution, and storage of cleaning chemicals
- Operate sanitation and production equipment as required
- Follow and enforce PPE, color‑coding, and zone‑based sanitation procedures
- Perform quality control checks in assigned areas
- Work safely around food allergens including wheat, dairy, eggs, and tree nuts
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Previous sanitation and/or dishwashing experience required
- Prior lead or supervisory experience preferred
- Knowledge of chemical concentrations and sanitation best practices
- Ability to work in a food manufacturing environment with allergens
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and cleanliness
- Ability to lead by example and work collaboratively with a team
