Job Type: Direct Hire
Pay Rate: $75,000 - $100,000
Benefits: Excellent benefits available upon hire.
HSE Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain plant health, safety, and environmental programs.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.
- Maintain OSHA compliance programs and required recordkeeping.
- Conduct workplace inspections, safety audits, observations, and risk assessments.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions and identify root causes.
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain programs involving LOTO, Haz Com, PPE, confined spaces, hot work, emergency response, and other industrial hazards.
- Coordinate employee and contractor safety training.
- Maintain emergency response procedures covering fires, spills, evacuations, and medical emergencies.
- Support environmental compliance activities involving waste, stormwater, wastewater, emissions, and chemical management.
- Maintain required environmental documentation and assist with regulatory reporting.
- Support ISO-based environmental and occupational safety management systems.
- Promote employee engagement and continuous improvement in workplace safety.
- Partner with plant leadership and production personnel to proactively identify and reduce operational risks.
Skills and Abilities
:
- Strong knowledge of OSHA General Industry requirements.
- Working knowledge of environmental regulations affecting manufacturing facilities.
- Strong incident investigation and root-cause-analysis capabilities.
- Knowledge of LOTO, Haz Com, PPE, confined-space entry, hot work, emergency action planning, and OSHA recordkeeping.
- Understanding of environmental permitting, hazardous waste, stormwater, and chemical-management requirements.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 preferred.
- Strong leadership, training, and communication skills.
- Ability to influence employees and management regarding safe work practices.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills are highly preferred.
- Ability to travel internationally for company-sponsored training.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of HSE experience within manufacturing, industrial production, metal processing, or a similar environment.
- Previous experience managing OSHA compliance programs required.
- Experience supporting environmental compliance programs strongly preferred.
- OSHA 30-Hour General Industry training is preferred.
- ISO 14001/45001 auditing experience and First Aid/CPR certification are desirable.
- Heavy manufacturing or metal-processing experience is highly preferred.
