Position SummaryThe Development & Community Engagement Manager will play a key role in supporting The Village Centers' fundraising and community engagement efforts. This position is responsible for donor stewardship, annual giving, volunteer coordination for fundraising events, corporate partnerships, community outreach, and supporting fundraising campaigns.
Working closely with the Executive Director, this individual will help cultivate lasting donor relationships while increasing community awareness and philanthropic support for our mission.
Key Responsibilities- Donor Stewardship
- Manage and cultivate individual donors giving up to $10,000 annually.
- Process and acknowledge charitable gifts promptly.
- Coordinate donor thank-you letters, stewardship communications, and impact updates.
- Schedule donor tours and introductory meetings.
- Maintain accurate donor records within the donor management system.
- Assist in planning and executing annual fundraising campaigns.
- Coordinate Giving Tuesday, year-end giving campaigns, and monthly donor initiatives.
- Research grant opportunities and assist with proposal preparation.
- Track fundraising metrics and prepare monthly reports.
- Support sponsorship outreach and donor recognition efforts.
- Build relationships with local businesses, civic organizations, and community partners.
- Represent The Village Centers at networking events, chamber meetings, and community functions.
- Recruit, coordinate, and recognize volunteers supporting fundraising events.
- Help increase community awareness through outreach initiatives.
- Assist with donor newsletters and impact stories.
- Support fundraising communications through email and social media.
- Work collaboratively with staff to highlight program successes and client stories.
- Help promote fundraising events and organizational initiatives.
- Maintain donor database accuracy.
- Track campaign progress and fundraising goals.
- Assist with event logistics and reporting.
- Perform other development-related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience in fundraising, sales, marketing, nonprofit development, customer relations, or business development.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Experience with donor CRM software.
- Grant writing or grant research experience.
- Event planning experience.
- Knowledge of nonprofit fundraising best practices.
