Job Overview
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at Bio Life Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd, reporting to the Plasma Center Manager. The role supports plasma center operations, ensuring donor eligibility, managing medical events, reviewing laboratory results, and providing medical care and training guidance. Responsible for compliance with industry regulations and center‑level EHS support.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent and medical history interview; conduct physical examination and blood testing.
- Review laboratory test results (Serological Protein Electrophoresis, etc.) and notify donors of unsuitable results.
- Monitor and evaluate donor reactions, following SOPs for medical emergencies; coordinate with Center Physician for standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer medical or technical concerns to Center Physician or Medical Affairs as needed.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents, determine further evaluation by occupational health/ERG, following EHS guidance.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations of pandemic threats within the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate‑level nursing program with state requirements; or state licensure as Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA).
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA‑approved Bio Life Medical Support Specialist training.
- Two years of clinical or hospital experience.
Competitive hourly wage range of $33.44–$45.98, with compensation commensurate to qualifications and ability.
