Retail Store Management Trainee

13.00 to $24.50 per hour. This role is designed for external retail assistant managers and store managers interested in fast‑tracing into a Store Management position. A minimum of 1 year retail management experience is required.

We are seeking a Store Manager Trainee with a minimum of six months of store management experience. The role partners with the Store Manager to lead and develop store employees, recruit and retain top talent, maximize financial goals, and manage customer relations. It also analyzes store financial statements, commits to the asset protection program, and targets new customer acquisitions.

• Facilitate a customer‑centric environment by engaging customers and rapidly addressing issues.
• Monitor and assist in the training of pawnbrokers to meet First Cash standards.
• Recruit top talent through company‑prescribed channels.
• Open and close the store, including counting cash drawers and merchandise, ensuring procedures are followed to protect assets.
• Ensure asset protection through inventory control, property safety procedures, documentation, and securing customer loans.
• Administer processes and procedures within the store: inventory, loan management, merchandising, store presentation, store systems, and reporting.
• Evaluate store financial statements and drive profitability.
• Ensure operating standards meet or exceed First Cash standards.
• Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to maintain loan value and integrity.
• Complete assigned tasks and training for self‑development.
• Communicate clearly with employees about store mission and profit objectives.
• Remain up‑to‑date on product knowledge.
• Act as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Other related duties as assigned.

• Willingly lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Perform duties and tasks for extended periods, standing, stooping, walking, climbing, etc., as required.
• Show effective supervision ability.
• Work with firearms and become firearms certified.
• Assist customers on building exterior or retrieve products from exterior storage if requested.
• Minimum age 18.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Work in multiple locations as business needs dictate.
• Work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Store manager trainee will work 45+ hours/week (hours not guaranteed).
• Computer literate with POS systems and common office machines.
• Multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
• Detail‑oriented, strong organizational skills.
• Analytical skills.
• Cash handling experience required.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent work ethic and strong business sense.
