Diesel Fleet Mechanic

• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Over 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States
• Physical ability to lift, push, pull, crouch and climb; ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations
• Pass pre‑employment drug screen and physical exam

• Diesel fleet maintenance
• CNG experience (preferred)
• Availability to attend a 2‑week training program in Arizona

• Starting salary $28.00+ with a $3.00 shift differential
• Tool allowance $2,000 per year
• Boot allowance $200 per year
• Sign‑on bonus $7,500
• Stable hours and shift structure

Monday – Friday, 2nd Shift starting at 4:00 pm (regular hours). Occasional Saturdays may be required. The primary work site is a repair/maintenance shop in Humble, TX for WM’s hauling site.

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment
• Estimate time and material costs for vehicle repairs
• Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs)
• Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns
• Conduct safety checks and maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with OSHA and corporate standards
• Complete required paperwork, document parts usage, and account for repair times
• Assist senior mechanics on project work
• Review and complete Driver Vehicle Inspection Report repairs

• Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and climbing; constant standing, walking, and grasping; occasional sitting and balancing
• Exposure to cuts, burns, toxic chemicals and other occupational risks
• Work in both indoor garage/shop and outdoor conditions, including inclement weather, heat, and humidity
