Assistant Diesel Mechanic – Job Description
Preferred CandidatePreferred candidate will have:
- Mechanical knowledge
- Driver’s License
- Able to do 2‑week training in Arizona
- Starting salary of $25 per hour
- Stable hours for financial stability
- Boot allowance worth an additional $200
- Tool Allowance is $2000 per year

- Monday – Friday every week
- 2nd Shift 4:00 pm
- Every other Saturday
- Stable hours supporting work‑life balance
- Repair / maintenance shop at the Humble, TX hauling site
- Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
- Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts.
- Perform work within our Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
- Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
- Conduct safety checks on vehicles – safety is the company’s top priority.
- Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage and accounting for repair times.
- Assisting senior Mechanics in project work.
- Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
- Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
- Be over 18 years of age.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Successfully complete and pass pre‑employment drug screen and physical.

- Requires physical effort including frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and climbing; constant standing, walking, and grasping; occasional sitting and balancing.
- Exposure to physical occupational risks such as cuts, burns, exposure to toxic chemicals, etc. often.
- Exposure to environmental conditions involving dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements often.
- Job operates in both inside garage, shop or gas plant conditions as well as outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity.
