Assistant Diesel Mechanic – Job Description

Preferred candidate will have:

• Mechanical knowledge
• Driver’s License
• Able to do 2‑week training in Arizona

• Starting salary of $25 per hour

• Monday – Friday every week
• 2nd Shift 4:00 pm
• Every other Saturday
• Stable hours supporting work‑life balance
• Repair / maintenance shop at the Humble, TX hauling site

• Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
• Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts.
• Perform work within our Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
• Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Conduct safety checks on vehicles – safety is the company’s top priority.
• Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage and accounting for repair times.
• Assisting senior Mechanics in project work.
• Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

• Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
• Be over 18 years of age.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Successfully complete and pass pre‑employment drug screen and physical.

• Requires physical effort including frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and climbing; constant standing, walking, and grasping; occasional sitting and balancing.
• Exposure to physical occupational risks such as cuts, burns, exposure to toxic chemicals, etc. often.
• Exposure to environmental conditions involving dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements often.
• Job operates in both inside garage, shop or gas plant conditions as well as outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity.
