Mechanic Assistant

Yellowstone Landscape is seeking a Mechanic Assistant to support our construction and commercial landscaping operations. In this hands-on role, you'll help inspect, maintain, and repair mowers, trucks, trailers, and light construction equipment to keep field crews running safely and on schedule. Working in a safety-first, team-based shop environment, you'll perform basic preventive maintenance, assist with diagnostics, manage tools and parts, and maintain clean, organized work areas.

This position offers structured training, exposure to modern equipment, and clear paths to advance into mechanic and equipment technician roles across our high-profile landscape projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist mechanics with inspection, diagnosis, and repair of landscape and construction equipment
• Perform basic preventive maintenance including fluid checks, filter changes, and lubrication
• Operate and safely use hand and power tools, lifts, and shop equipment
• Support repair of small engines, mowers, trimmers, and light construction equipment
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized shop and yard work areas
• Document maintenance activities and update equipment service records
• Assist with parts pickup, inventory, and organization
• Follow all company safety policies and wear required PPESupport field crews with basic equipment troubleshooting as needed
