Position: Finance Accounting Supervisor at Horizon School Division
Drive excellence in financial accountability as the Supervisor of Accounting Services with Horizon School Division. This full-time role emphasizes leadership and a strong client focus to ensure reporting accuracy.

You will act as a pivotal resource within the accounting services department, reporting directly to the Assistant Superintendent of Finance Services. This position emphasizes developing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders while ensuring compliance with public sector accounting standards. Your responsibilities will cover financial risk management, month-end closings, and maintaining adherence to ministry requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure financial operations comply with recognized procedures

• Provide support in accounts payable and receivable management

• Prepare monthly financial statements in compliance with standards

• Oversight of general ledger maintenance and journal entries

• Monitor and improve effectiveness of accounting services

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

• 3-6 years of related financial analysis experience

• Deep knowledge of accounting principles and GAAP

• Strong communication and team leadership skills

• Experience in the public sector preferred
