Position Summary

The core duties of this position include the mechanical layout and design of tooling for custom-engineered, stamped products.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work with Sales to design new products and dies to customer specifications.
  • Be the focal point for Design for Manufacturability by coordinating with the Tool Shop.
  • Project Management of purchasing tool materials and coordinating the tool build and development process.
  • Participate in troubleshooting production issues in the metal forming shop.
  • Revise existing die designs to address root causes of production issues.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to improve the efficiency of the metal forming operation.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills
  • Proficient in the use of Solid Works to model products and dies.
  • Experience in Metal Stamping is required.
  • Use Solid Works to create detail drawings for manufacturing.
  • Project Engineering experience required to plan and execute die manufacturing to meet customer deadlines.
  • Technical experience in a machining and/or metal stamping environment.
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience with a minimum of 3+ years’ experience in the field of mechanical design.
