Night Shift Maintenance Mechanic

Overview

Bongards’ Creameries is seeking a Night Shift Maintenance Mechanic based out of our Humboldt facility. The maintenance mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing cheese-making machinery, related systems and facilities.

• Inspect and test equipment to diagnose problem(s).
• Perform preventative maintenance on AGV, GIA and Robotic Palletizer equipment.
• Disassemble defective equipment to find root cause.
• Install new or refurbished part(s).
• Repair or replace components for hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic equipment.
• Record repairs made and inventory used.
• Clean and lubricate moving components of equipment.
• Perform work on machines according to Preventative Maintenance Schedule.
• Maintain detailed log of work completed, materials used, time spent, etc.
• Report all Food Safety and quality concerns to immediate supervisor or designated replacement.
• Work indoors/outdoors, in cold/warm environments, crawl spaces and elevated areas.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent Math and Reading skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
• Electrical experience with DC, AC (up to 480V 3 phase) highly desired.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Knowledge of PLCs, Ladder Logic.
• Knowledge of Schematics.
• Knowledge of LOTO Procedures.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
• Previous maintenance experience in a production/manufacturing environment preferred.
• Must adhere to and follow all Safety, GMP, other quality guidelines.
• Must report all food safety problems to immediate supervisor or designated replacement.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs.
• Ability to spend long periods of time standing.

• Night Shift 6:00pm to 6:00am Monday – Friday.
