Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Job Details
This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
Responsibilities- Maintain machinery to ensure continuous production.
- Set up, adjust, and break down production line machinery.
- Learn and use Tyson SAP software to create work orders and complete daily documentation.
- Communicate effectively with team members, producers, USDA personnel, and drivers.
- Use math for work‑related computations such as machinery fluid capacities.
- Lift up to 50 lbs. periodically and work on feet for up to 12 hours.
- Complete all required training for the job.
- At least 6 months of documented mechanic work experience or graduate/student of an industrial maintenance training program.
- Knowledge in industrial hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, electronics, plumbing and welding.
- Basic knowledge of PLC operations is a plus.
- Strong electronic skill set.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 125 lbs. occasionally.
- Willingness to work long hours, climb stairs and ladders, and tow a water hose.

- Minimum 6 months of mechanic experience (duplicate of requirements).
- Rehire policy: individuals who have worked for Tyson Foods 3 or more times are ineligible for rehire.
- Rehire waiting period: 90 days.
