Capital Area Head Start Substitutes Position
Capital Area Head Start is seeking Substitutes to join our mission in providing a comprehensive child development program designed to give children a head start in life, empowering parents and strengthening families. If you have the passion and heart to make a difference and uplift communities, Head Start is the place for you! Substitutes support classroom staff in the delivery of quality educational programming, ensuring the safety of children ages 3-5, and assisting with the implementation of daily lesson plans and activities.

$15.68 per hour Casual/Per Diem, Non Exempt position
Schedule:
Hours between 7:30AM and 4:30PM based on center Positions available in Dauphin and Cumberland counties

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer skills, ability to use Microsoft Word, Outlook and learn web based systems
- Ability to travel to home visits, training, and other locations
- Successful completion of pre-employment process, including Criminal History, Child Abuse and FBI clearances
- Preschool CDA or Associate’s degree in early childhood education
- Experience working with young children
- Participation in Head Start or Early Head Start
- Bi/multi-lingual
