Location

Novant Health Hunterville Medical Center – Emergency room and ICU

Full-Time

Monday-Friday; 8:00AM-5:00PM

Novant Health is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Administrative Specialist to support departmental operations through high-level administrative and clerical tasks. Whether working independently or as part of a team, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring smooth day-to-day functions and serve as a trusted resource to staff in Emergency Services and the ICU.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to leadership and team members
  • Manage departmental communications, scheduling, and regulatory documentation
  • Contribute to a collaborative and efficient work environment
  • Vendor coordination
  • Invoice and work order management
  • Timekeeping/attendance tracking
What We’re Looking For
  • Education:

    High School Diploma or GED, required. Education in basic office procedures.
  • Experience:

    Two years of administrative support experience, required. Administrative support experience, preferred.
  • Additional Skills (required):
    • Ability to effectively communicate with physicians and hospital staff.
    • Ability to use a variety of software packages, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, etc., to produce correspondence and documents and maintain presentations, records, spreadsheets and databases;
      Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
    • Communication:
      Creates an environment that supports and respects diversity to promote creative problem solving. Communicates the value of activities within the organization and community to gain cooperation and collaborative partnership.
    • Customer Service:
      Holds staff accountable for customer service standards and ensures service recovery when needed. Ensures staff responds to customers in a timely manner.
    • Inclusion & Belonging:
      Fosters a work environment of inclusion and belonging.
    • Digital Fluency:
      Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, specifically Excel, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint.
  • Additional Skills (preferred):

    • Intellectual depth, moral integrity, personal vision, creativity, leadership skills, fortitude, sincerity, and diplomacy.
