Lake Norman Charter is thrilled to announce that our brand-new Lake Norman Charter Elementary School West campus will open its doors in August 2026! We are seeking qualified EC Teachers for the school year. This application is for positions at both LNC ES East campus and LNC ES West campus.

ExceptionalChildren (EC)
– Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops and implements the Individual Education Program (IEP) for students with disabilities; uses diagnostic information obtained from tests and other assessment procedures to update IEPs as needed.
- Develops lesson plans, adapts materials, and designs activities to assist EC students in developing appropriate academic, behavioral, and social skills to progress with meeting their IEP goals.
- Acts as the case manager for assigned students; collaborates with regular education teachers, service providers, and parents to better understand and meet student needs.
- Maintains student records under North Carolina’s Procedures Governing Programs and Services for Children with Disabilities, and complies with state and federal education statutes.
- Incorporates a wide range of co‑teaching approaches specifically geared towards, but not limited to, the “team teaching” model.
- Proficient in the use of NC ECATS (Every Child Accountability and Tracking System).
- Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.

Instruction and Curriculum
- Plans, prepares, and delivers engaging, student‑centered lessons aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study; differentiates instruction to meet diverse academic and developmental needs.
- Integrates leadership, service, and character education into classroom instruction.
- Assesses and monitors student learning using a variety of formative and summative methods.
- Provides timely, constructive feedback to students and communicates progress regularly with parents and guardians.
Student Support and Supervision
- Promotes the safety, well‑being, and personal growth of all students.
- Implements effective classroom management practices and positive behavior supports to proactively support student behavior and engagement.
- Provides academic and social‑emotional guidance to students and families as appropriate.
- Ensures the safety of students through supervision at all times, including in the classroom and during non‑classroom times.
Communication and Collaboration
- Collaborates effectively with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to promote student learning and school improvement.
- Participates actively in professional development (PD) and training courses, faculty meetings, and action research activities.
- Engages in reflective practice and peer collaboration to enhance instructional effectiveness.
- Contributes to curriculum development and assessment design as part of the school’s continuous improvement efforts.
