Charter One works with schools across the country to provide all-inclusive education management services. Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy is now accepting applications for a Latin Teacher for the 2025–2026 academic year. As a school grounded in classical education, we seek candidates who are enthusiastic about classical teaching methods, particularly the trivium approach (grammar, logic, rhetoric). Our classical model emphasizes a rich knowledge base, critical thinking, and the ability to express and apply ideas effectively. Candidates must be willing to undergo a background check.

• Design and prepare engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and address the learning needs of students at various proficiency levels.
• Deliver daily lessons in Latin, focusing on vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing, and translation skills, while incorporating cultural elements related to ancient Rome and the influence of Latin on modern languages.
• Develop and administer assessments to evaluate student understanding and progress, providing timely feedback to help students improve.
• Maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment, promoting student engagement and encouraging participation in discussions and activities.
• Adapt instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, providing additional support or enrichment opportunities as needed.
• Grade assignments, quizzes, and exams, and maintain accurate records of student progress and performance.
• Communicate regularly with students and parents regarding academic progress, upcoming assignments, and any concerns or issues that may arise.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues in the foreign language department and other subject areas to create interdisciplinary learning experiences.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in language instruction and enhance teaching skills.
• Organize and participate in activities or events that promote the study of Latin and classical cultures, such as Latin Club meetings, competitions, or cultural celebrations.
• Provide academic and emotional support to students, helping them navigate challenges related to language learning and fostering a love for Latin.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Latin, or related field
• North Carolina Teaching Certificate
• Experience teaching Latin or classical languages
